Canadian singer Justin Hines collaborates on a South African remix of his hit song

From inDiscover.net:

The video of the South African remix of Justin Hines (pictured) award-winning hit song, “Say What You Will”, from his new “The South Africa EP”, premiered recently on Bell Sympatico’s new inDiscover.net internet portal. The premiere also marked the official launch of Hines’ “Say What You Will” Campaign to help build schools and to further youth education in South Africa, whereby 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the new EP will go to the Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children, The Association for the Physically Disabled (Eastern Cape) and other charitable partners.

When South African (city or province) producer, Bronwyn Nel, felt that “Say What You Will” would resonate profoundly with her community she remixed the song with the Seta/Siyaya Learner Choir and the Keynote Acapella Group prompting Justin’s film crew to head to South Africa, in May to shoot the music video. Not only did they capture the struggles and challenges of the people at schools like Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Foundation’s 7 Fountains, Despatch Primary and St. Elizabeth Primary Schools, the crew’s interaction with the South African children became the stimulus for the genesis of Justin’s “Say What You Will” campaign. The new video, which is being broadcast on South African TV during the World Cup, perpetuates the “whiteboard” concept that made the original domestic version so popular. People candidly expressed their innermost feelings for the camera by writing on a whiteboard, pairing a simple and powerful song with a simple and powerful video that was extraordinarily optimistic and honest. Even Archbishop Desmond Tutu created his own whiteboard message of hope for the video.

Justin Hines is an award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter currently touring Canada and the United States. He has performed all the over world. His 2009 sophomore album, Chasing Silver, featured the hit single “Say What You Will,” which was the most downloaded singer-songwriter track on iTunes within 48 hours of its release and became one of the most emailed videos on MSN/Sympatico. Signed to inDiscover Recordings/Orange Lounge Recordings, his new release, “The South Africa EP” featuring both the track and music video for the South African remix of “Say What You Will,” is available now at inDiscover.net.
